***NCUIH has extended the application deadline to 12:00 PM Eastern on Sunday, August 15***
The National Council of Urban Indian Health (NCUIH) invites applications from young adult ambassadors (ages 18-24) living in our urban communities and off reservations to participate in NCUIH’s National Urban Indian Youth and Young Adult Advisory Council (“Youth Council”).
The NCUIH Youth Council leads efforts that empower American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) youth and young adults to address substance misuse, trauma, suicide, and other mental health challenges among Native youth. Through their hard work, members hone skills in advocacy, public speaking, project management, and professional development.
To apply: Youth and young adults must submit a Youth Council Application and a supporting Adult Reference.
*NOTE: One adult reference is required upon application. Applicants may choose either an additional adult reference or a peer reference for an optional second reference.
Please take a look at our Youth Council FAQs below for more information.
We appreciate your continued support of Urban Indian Youth.
