Under a partnership launched in April, AIANTA and Leave No Trace will be working with tribal communities to develop an education campaign that aims to increase awareness among visitors to tribal lands and communities in reducing avoidable impacts to land, water and cultural heritage resources.
The first phase of the project launches January 22, 2022 and asks for Native input on language and messaging. AIANTA and Leave No Trace are soliciting interest from tribal advisors who may be interested in joining a steering group that will help inform the direction of the responsible visitation and recreation education campaign.
The group, which is open by invitation only, will meet Wednesday, January 12, 2022 via ZOOM and will be active through 2022.
