HRSA announced the 2022 National Health Service Corps Loan Repayment Program (NHSC LRP) application cycle and has released a Dear Tribal Leader Letter informing Indian Country of the opportunity. As background, In March of 2021, the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) increased overall NHSC funding by $800 million, supporting our largest-ever field strength. Additionally, HRSA is once again dedicating $15 million set aside, in NHSC award funds, to clinicians serving at Indian Health Service facilities, Tribally-Operated 638 Health Programs, and Urban Indian Health Programs (ITUs).
Please share this opportunity and letter with key stakeholders so their eligible healthcare practitioners and clinicians do not miss out on this opportunity. The application deadline is February 3, 2022, 7:30 p.m. ET. For additional information, here is the NHSC LRP Application Checklist which is a guide through the application and a Comparison Graphic that aides in choosing which of the three programs is suitable for applicants.
