The FCC’s Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and the Office of Native Affairs and Policy will host a virtual webinar on November 16, 2023 to provide an overview of their Public Notice on Tribal Access to Wireless Spectrum and Related Data: Public Notice, Wireless Telecommunications Bureau and Office of Native Affairs and Policy Seek Comment on Tribal Nation and Native Hawaiian Access to Spectrum and Related Data, GN Docket No. 23-265.

Comments filed in response to the Public Notice on Tribal Access to Wireless Spectrum and Related Data will enable the FCC to improve its understanding of how and the extent to which Tribal Nations and the Native Hawaiian Community are able to access wireless spectrum.  The upcoming webinar will highlight information currently collected through license applications and is designed to assist parties interested in learning how to submit responsive public comments which are due November 30, 2023.

We encourage individuals interested in this issue to review the Public Notice, GN Docket No. 23-265 which includes a list of questions to guide commenters in their feedback.  These questions and the background in the Public Notice will be helpful for webinar attendees.

Background:  The FCC’s wireless licensing application forms currently collect certain types of demographic or other identifying information from Tribal or Native Hawaiian applicants.  In order to improve the FCC’s understanding of how Tribal Nations and the Native Hawaiian Community are able to access wireless spectrum, we are seeking input on how to refine the licensee and demographic information collected on such forms.

Official registration for this webinar is recommended but not required.  To register, please send a message to Tribal.Events@fcc.gov stating “November 16^th Webinar” in the subject line.  Questions may be submitted prior to the webinar via email to Tribal.Events@fcc.gov.  Registrants will receive a Zoom link enabling them to enter the webinar.
