Please join the USDA Forest Service for a Tribal forum on proposed directives for the mitigation of adverse impacts on National Forest System lands. Representatives from the Ecosystem Management Coordination staff will share information and be available to discuss the proposed national policy and Tribal implications.

 The Forest Service follows Land Management Planning and National Environmental Policy Act regulations to assess the need for and include mitigation in both its activities and those activities it authorizes. The Agency does not currently have a separate mitigation policy. The proposed directives will clarify the agency’s mitigation authority and provide standard national direction to encourage consistency, improve transparency, and increase effectiveness.
