WOTUS, or “waters of the United States” is an issue of great national importance as it establishes the geographic scope of federal jurisdiction under the Clean Water Act. We are reviewing the definition to ensure it follows the law, reduces red tape, cuts overall permitting costs, and lowers the cost of doing business in communities nationwide, and inviting public input through a series of listening sessions.
EPA and the Department of Army are conducting this virtual webinar listening session for Tribes on Zoom. Note that this listening session will be limited to participants from Tribal government agencies and member organizations.
In-person registration will end at 12 p.m. (noon) two business days before each session. Virtual registration will end at noon one day before each session.
Attendees may preregister for a three-minute time slot to speak. Slots will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis and will be limited by the duration of the meeting. Please sign up to speak at only one listening session. If you are confirmed for registration, the moderator will call on you by name when it is your turn to speak. Confirmed speakers will receive an invitation to join the session as a Panelist with additional information. Requests to speak may be requested during the listening session, pending availability.
Participants can also register to listen only. Once the speaking slots are filled, participants can register to listen to the session or join the speaker waitlist. Registration will be closed when capacity in the listening sessions has been met.
For more information: Please reach out to wotus-outreach@epa.gov with questions or to arrange for accommodations (e.g., sign language interpreters or translation). Accommodations will be provided if received no later than one week before the listening session. EPA will use your registration information solely for this event. We will not share your information with any third party.
