Tribal Consultation on Native American Voting Rights
July 28, 2021 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm CDT
On March 7, 2021, President Biden issued an Executive Order on Promoting Access to Voting, which also established a Native American Voting Rights Steering Group. The Steering Group is guided by the White House Domestic Policy Council and is charged with studying best practices for voter protection among Native Americans. The Steering Group will engage in regional Tribal consultations to determine voting concerns and potential areas of focus for a report that it will publish within a year. Tribal Leaders are encouraged to provide recommendations to the Steering Group to increase voter outreach, education, registration, and turnout at the polls.
The Steering Group will hold a regional Tribal consultation with the Eastern, Rocky Mountain, Eastern Oklahoma, and Midwest Regions on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 at 2:00pm ET.
