Pentagon Hosting Native American Heritage Month Celebration

The U.S. Pentagon is hosting a Native American Heritage Month Celebration closed event on Thursday, November 10, 2022 beginning at 12:00pm ET. The event will include official tours of the Pentagon and speakers from the various branches of the military and the Department of Defense. This event will be hosted in-person at the Pentagon in Washington, DC.
Tribal Leaders, Veterans, and others interested in attending should send their names and email addresses to Coby Klar at the National Congress of American Indians at cklar@ncai.org as soon as possible since seating is limited to 500 attendees. Tribal Nations are also encouraged to bring their Nation flags to post during the event.
Below is a detailed agenda for the event, which will be hosted in the Pentagon Center Courtyard—
- 12:00pm – 12:45 pm: Official Pentagon Tours provided to DoVA and U.S. Air Force guests on behalf of OSD(PA) Caroline Wilson
- 12:45 pm – 1:00pm: Event seating will begin
- 1:00pm – 1:05pm: Kiowa Black Leggings Society Presentation of Colors / Eagle Staff / Uptown Singerz Flag Song
- 1:05pm – 1:10pm: Invocation Prayer – Jonathan Nez, President of the Navajo Nation
- 1:10pm – 1:20pm: Welcome and Introduction of Speaker – Mistress of Ceremonies, U.S. Air Force Lt. Col Maureen Trujillo (Cochiti Pueblo)
- 1:20pm – 1:35pm: Event Speaker – Richard Kidd, Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Environment and Energy Resilience
