On October 8, 2024, the White House Initiative for Native Americans and Tribal Colleges and Universities, the Department of Education, and the National Indian Education Association will convene the 11th Annual Native Languages Summit (NLS) with the 2011 Native Language MOA signatories.

This year’s theme, Beyond the Decade: Inspiring a Generation of Native Language Learners, focuses on encouraging continued momentum for Native language learners of all ages and wherever they are in their language revitalization journey.

The NLS is committed to empowering national discourse between Tribal, Federal, State, and Local government agencies to collectively support and strengthen Native American Language (NAL) instruction across all American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian communities.

Special Note: This event coincides with the National Indian Education Association (NIEA) Annual Conference, October 9 -12th, which is hosted by the NIEA.
