The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), Office of Native American Programs issued a Dear Tribal Leader Letter announcing a webinar on, “Documenting Compliance with HUD’s Nose Abatement and Control Standard.” HUD’s regulations at 24 CFR 51B require projects involving noise-sensitive land uses to consider how nearby noise generators can impact a project. This webinar will present HUD’s noise standard in the context of environmental reviews for Tribal projects, outline the steps for conducting a noise assessment, and demonstrate the use of existing HUD online tools on noise abatement and control.
