The Interim Guidance will go into immediate effect for all presidential disaster declarations declared for Tribal Nations on December 3^rd and going forward. It will not apply to disasters that were declared by the President before December 3^rd. FEMA is opening a 30 day public comment period from Dec. 3, 2024 – Jan. 2, 2024, and will host a government to government tribal consultation and two public webinars. The comment period is an opportunity for us to hear from Tribal Nations to gather additional feedback and ensure that this Guidance reflects the diverse perspectives and needs of those we serve.
