Nature-based Solutions for One Health: Harnessing the Power of Nature for Human, Animal, and Ecosystem Health
Nature provides a wide range of health benefits, including but not limited to providing clean air and water for humans and animals and reducing health risks from disasters. Nature-based solutions (NBS) are an effective tool to deliver these benefits to communities. As defined by the International Union for Conservation of Nature, NBS are actions to protect, sustainably use, manage and restore natural or modified ecosystems, which address societal challenges, effectively and adaptively, providing human well-being and biodiversity benefits. Implementing NBS can advance the One Health approach to fight health issues at the human-animal-environment interface. This webinar will present evidence on the role of NBS in supporting human, animal, and ecosystem health, showcasing public NBS resources and projects delivering health benefits across the country.
