FEMA invites you, your teams, and all Tribal Nations to register for the Department of Homeland Security/FEMA Extreme Heat Summit taking place on Monday, August 28th at 4:00 p.m. ET. During the Summit you will hear from Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro N. Mayorkas and FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell, along with Tribal Nation, state, local and territorial leaders, discuss best practices and success stories of communities taking action to mitigate the impacts of extreme heat. They are very excited to share that Chief Mike Williams of the Akiak Native Community will be joining this panel to share his knowledge regarding the impacts of climate change and extreme heat on Tribal Nations. They know that Tribal Nations are on the front lines of many of the impact of climate change including extreme heat and hope that you will join them for this important discussion.
