On August 10^th, the U.S. Department of Energy proposed a rule to establish the Coordinated Interagency Transmission Authorizations and Permits (CITAP) Program to accelerate Federal environmental review and permitting processes for qualifying onshore electric transmission facilities. The Grid Deployment Office is holding series of meetings to increase awareness with interested parties of this Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NOPR) and encourage public comment on the proposal. They currently have a briefing scheduled for Tribal governments, Tribal affiliates, and Preservation Officers on Wednesday, September 20^th at 2pm.
