- Trump Administration Actions | Impacts to Indian Country Discussion
Description: This afternoon is being designed as an in-person extension of our recently convened Weekly Trump Administration Actions Impacts call. Consistent with those calls, the purposes and intent will be for the Board, Tribal leaders, membership programmatic staff/committees, and USET/USET SPF staff to gather together to discuss the following Trump Actions and Impacts topic areas:
(1) Policy, Legislative, and Litigation,
(2) Finance, Grants, and Grants Compliance,
(3) Potential Impacts to Public Health, and
(4) Sharing of Specific Examples and Challenges. In addition to creating space to discuss the impacts of actions seen thus far, and the related response reactions, we are equally creating the space to discuss a proactive, deliberative, and unique strategy.
As we have discussed during our weekly calls, not only does this moment require a doubling down on the principles of our government-to-government diplomatic relationship with the United States, reliance on our existing bi-partisan Congressional and Administration relationships and building new, but equally important is an appreciation and understanding that we must consider new advocacy approaches that meets this moment for the realities of what we are currently being confronted.
