AGENDA
1. Welcome - Nik Blosser
2. Update on transition survey/outreach to vaccine planning jurisdictions - Nik Blosser
3. Meeting focus: Public health workforce - contact tracing, case investigation, vaccination workforce issues
The focus for this meeting is on public health workforce issues, including contact tracing and case investigation as well as other public health specialties and vaccine workforce issues.
Main questions:
- What does public health need in terms of workforce to more effectively respond to COVID at the local, state, and territorial levels? (lab, epi, community outreach, vaccinators, etc)
- How can we best deploy new workforce assets quickly to build the capacity of the public health system?
- What are some innovative ways that health departments are able to quickly hire/obtain new workers to support COVID response?
We have invited representatives from the following additional organizations to share their comments:
- Mike Fraser, CEO, Association of State and Territorial Health Officers (ASTHO)
- John Robitscher, Executive Director, National Association of Chronic Disease Directors
- David Harvey, Executive Director and Amanda Dennison, Director of Programs, National Coalition of STD Directors
We will then open it up to additional comments from CSTE, ASTHO, NACCHO, NIHB and BCHC and questions from the transition.
