Enhancing Tribal Environmental Health Programs Engagement in COVID-19 Response Webinar Series
March 29, 2022 –
Join the National Indian Health Board for the third webinar of the Enhancing Tribal Environmental Health Programs Engagement in COVID-19 Response Webinar Series. This webinar series will strengthen environmental health networks in Indian Country, foster a learning community, and aid in creating environmental protocols and guidelines for the COVID-19 pandemic. The goal is to build on Tribes and Tribal organization’s capabilities to address environmental and human health impacts from the virus that causes COVID-19.
Disinfecting high-touch surfaces at community facilities is important for protecting community members and staff from exposure to COVID-19. Effective disinfection of these surfaces requires choosing products registered by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. But what happens when there is a misuse and overuse of disinfectants as a result of heightened concerns about SARS-CoV-2 transmission. This webinar explains potential health effects associated with exposure to disinfectants and identifies safer substitutions for common disinfectants that have lower risks of long-term adverse health effects.
Who should attend? Tribal environmental health specialists, environmental technicians, environmental engineers, health educators and CHRs, and other Tribal public health professionals interested in identifying safer disinfectants and disinfection practices and reducing over-use and exposure.
