COVID-19 Community Corps Call on the Urgent Need for Vaccines for Pregnant People
October 25, 2021
Cases of COVID-19 in symptomatic, pregnant people have a two-fold risk of admission into intensive care and a 70 percent increased risk of death. It’s critical pregnant people know the protective benefits of the COVID-19 vaccine to keep their babies and themselves safe.
CDC’s urgent health advisory calls to increase COVID-19 vaccination among people who are pregnant, recently pregnant, who are trying to become pregnant now, or who might become pregnant in the future to prevent serious illness, deaths, and adverse pregnancy outcomes.
We want to make sure you have an opportunity to hear from experts about the latest guidance on CDC’s urgent health advisory. Please join our next Community Corps call with Surgeon General Vivek Murthy on Monday, October 25 at 5:15pm ET.
The vaccines are safe and effective – at all stages of pregnancy and postpartum – and it has never been more urgent to increase vaccinations as we face the highly transmissible variants and see severe outcomes from COVID-19 among unvaccinated pregnant people.

Thanks for all you do, and we hope to see you at Monday’s event.
