November 9, 2021
Following up on the release of Confronting Health Misinformation: The U.S. Surgeon General’s Advisory on Building a Healthy Information Environment, Surgeon General Vivek H. Murthy is announcing the second installment of his office’s efforts to combat health misinformation and disinformation.
Please join the virtual launch event, hosted by the Knight Foundation and Digital Public Library of America, for a discussion on health misinformation with Dr. Murthy.
The Surgeon General’s Community Toolkit for Addressing Health Misinformation provides specific guidance to individuals, health care professionals and administrators, teachers, school administrators, librarians, and faith leaders to understand, identify, and stop the spread of health misinformation in their communities. The Community Toolkit includes 5-minute training exercises, conversation starters and tips for talking to friends and family, checklists, and even a comic strip!
