NIHB COVID-19 Vaccines Listening Session
June 22, 2022 –
The National Indian Health Board (NIHB) will convene a virtual discussion session on June 22, on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's (CDC) COVID-19 Staffing Guidance. This session focuses on improving the clinical work environment to attract and retain public health professionals during an emerging or re-emerging infectious disease outbreak. Staff shortages have been a primary challenge in managing patient surges during the COVID-19 pandemic and other disasters. This session will discuss how staffing challenges arise in Tribal healthcare settings and how they can address staff shortages.
By the end of the presentation, participants will be able to:
- Identify CDC resources for controlling the spread of infections during emergency response
- Share strategies to maintain or expand their facilities’ capacity to treat patients with COVID-19
Who should attend?
Frontline Native physicians, nurses, pharmacists, other clinicians, health educators, and public health professionals working in clinical, long-term care, and hospital settings.
