FEMA Tribal Consultation on Public Assistance COVID-19 Safe Opening and Operating Costs Interim Policy
October 13, 2021 –
The National Indian Health Board (NIHB) is hosting a webinar on Wednesday, October 13, 2021, from 4:00 - 5:00 pm ET. As the United States prepares for the 2021-22 influenza season that begins in October, questions abound regarding how to deal with both COVID-19 and flu at the same time. This webinar will provide information on what to expect this season to minimize flu and pneumonia infections during the COVID-19 pandemic and discuss the potential risk to those with underlying medical conditions during the current flu season.
Objectives
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Describe influenza, other respiratory conditions, and COVID-19 in terms of their signs and populations at high risk of disease complications.
- Discuss the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommendations on the use of influenza vaccines to minimize flu and pneumonia infections during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Who should attend?
The intended audience for this webinar is physicians, nurses, pharmacists, health educators, other clinicians, and public health professionals interested in influenza vaccination guidance during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the increased risk that individuals with chronic health conditions often face with the flu infection.
