IFMAT releases interactive report, Breaking Point: The State of Tribal Forestry Today
The Indian Forest Management Assessment Team (IFMAT) reports were established to provide an “independent assessment of Indian forest lands and management practices…every ten years” in accordance with the National Indian Forest Resources Management Act (NIFRMA). The reports development is supported largely by the Intertribal Timber Council, ITC. Last year, the most recent report, IFMAT IV, was released. This year, the authors have released a thoughtful and engaging story map to serve as an interactive version of the report with added pictures, videos, and stories shared by Tribal Nation foresters.
