We are excited to announce the launch of USDA’s Agriculture and Forestry Greenhouse Gas Data Viewer, an innovative and interactive tool displaying the most recent data on greenhouse gas emissions and sinks for the agriculture and forestry sectors.
The Data Viewer offers a deep dive into EPA’s Inventory of U.S. Greenhouse Gas Emissions and Sinks (the Inventory), with a focus on agriculture, forestry, land-use and land-use change (LULUC), and on-farm energy use. Through this interactive and user-friendly tool, you can:
- Filter data by state, sector, emissions source, and greenhouse gas;
- Compare data across years and explore long-term trends;
- View supplementary datasets alongside Inventory data for richer analysis, and;
- Easily access data via a Data Download tab.
The interface will be updated annually in coordination with the release of EPA’s state-level Inventory data. The release of the Data Viewer is part of broader USDA efforts to improve tracking and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and sinks, in support of both international reporting and climate mitigation goals. In collaboration with external partners, USDA aims to continue improving upon our contributions to the Inventory and to ensure that up-to-date greenhouse gas data for agriculture and forestry are accessible and usable for the public.
