FEMA Tribal Consultation to Discuss Grant Programs

In response to the letter FEMA received from the Inter-Tribal Emergency Management Coalition (ITEMC) Chairman, FEMA hosted a tribal consultation on FEMA’s grant programs on August 22, 2024, during the ITEMC Summit. As a follow up to that consultation, FEMA is hosting another consultation in a virtual format to continue gathering vital feedback on its grant programs. FEMA’s senior leadership will lead the consultation. Topics to discuss include:
- Issues with FEMA grant program processes and applications;
- Tribal barriers and challenges, including the accessibility of FEMA grants; and
- Other tribal needs related to building resilience.
