ICWA Webinar Series: The Indian Child Welfare Act and Advocates for Native Youth
September 17 at 2:00 – 3:30 pm Eastern
Register by September 12.
The Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) provides minimum Federal standards for the removal of Indian children from their families and placement in foster and adoptive homes. Representatives of Native youth, including Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA), Guardian Ad Litem (GAL), and attorneys representing children play an important role in ICWA cases. This webinar is the third in a multipart series concerning the application of ICWA in State courts and the role of Tribal courts in cases involving ICWA. Panelists with experience in advocating for Native youth in ICWA cases will discuss the various roles as well as provide information on best practices. CLE will not be provided.
There is no tuition charge for this training.
