HUD has released a Dear Tribal Leader Letter to streamline the environmental review process and reduce the burden on Tribal Nations and Tribally Designated Housing Entities HUD has developed a programmatic environmental review for soft costs (including administration, operations, maintenance, and planning), tenant-based rental assistance, public and supportive services, and activities to assist homebuyers in purchasing existing dwelling units or dwelling units under construction. HUD’s Office of Native American Programs (ONAP) will provide a tenant-based training titled “Simplified Environmental Reviews: Use of the Programmatic and Limited Scope Review.” ONAP will post the recorded training on Codetalk.
