Forest Service and First Nations Development Institute virtual office hours

May 29 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm CDT

The Forest Service and First Nations Development Institute will co-host a series of virtual office hours for federally recognized Tribes and Alaska Native corporations and villages. During these sessions, staff will answer questions about this opportunity and provide feedback on proposed activities. Tribal staff—including forestry, program, and grant writing staff—are encouraged to participate.

Information on future office hours will be posted to the Forest Landowner Support page as they are confirmed.

Support available to Tribes:

  1. Participate in office hours on May 29, 2-3pm Mountain Time. Register for office hours here.
  2. First Nations Development Institute, a Community Navigator organization, is available to provide support on grant writing (email lriggs@firstnations.org).
  3. The National Indian Carbon Coalition (a project of Indian Land Tenure Foundation) is available to provide technical support to Tribes interested in exploring carbon markets (email bvanstippen@iltf.org).

The agency’s Forest Landowner Support team is available for one-on-one calls with Tribes to discuss ideas for this specific funding opportunity (email SM.FS.LandownerIRA@usda.gov).
