Dear Tribal Leaders, Tribal Counsel, and Tribal Organizations,

Please find attached a Dear Tribal Leader letter from the Uniform Law Commission (ULC).  As you may have heard, the ULC is currently evaluating whether to move forward with the process of drafting a uniform State ICWA law.  As part of its discussion, the ULC believes that it is imperative to hold a listening session and solicit comments from tribal leaders or their designees.

The listening session will take place on September 6 from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm ET and more information is included in the attached letter.  The link to register for the meeting is here:

While the listening session is taking place soon, the ULC will accept written comments until September 30, 2023.
