The National Indian Education Association (NIEA), the National Congress of American Indians (NCAI), and other National Language partners want to hear directly from Native language learners, practitioners, teachers, activists, and tribal leaders about the current successes, needs, and landscape of our languages, and will be hosting three webinars on language issues. The first session will take place on May 3, 2023, at 2:00—3:30 p.m. EDT and will focus on language users and learners; the second session will take place on May 17, 2023, at 2:00—3:30 p.m. EDT and will focus on capacity building and planning needs; and the final session will take place on May 24, 2023, at 2:00—3:30 p.m. with a focus on best practices and government accountability. These sessions are meant to be safe and productive spaces to have serious conversations about the future of our languages and what is needed to continue to protect and strengthen them for the coming generations.
