Administration for Children and Families’ Indian Child Welfare Act Webinar
February 2, 2023 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm CST
Please mark your calendars for February 2, 2023 from 2:30-4pm EST, as the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families (ACF), in collaboration with the National Council of Juvenile and Family Court Judges (NCJFCJ), hosts a web-based event about the Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA).
This panel conversation will cover ICWA and the role of collaborative relationships between tribes, states, and others within their communities as a promising practice to improve outcomes for tribal children, their families, and communities. Panelists will include Judge Janet Bostwick (Pima County, AZ), Judge Kathleen Quigley (Pima County, AZ), and Attorney General Fred Urbina (Pasqua Yaqui Tribe), and will be moderated by Sheldon Spotted Elk (Casey Family Programs).
This event builds on previous ACF listening sessions on this topic. Assistant Secretary Contreras had the privilege of hearing from Tribal leaders in Minnesota, who shared promising practices happening there.
