BOP TLOA Pilot Program Original 2010 Referral Application

You are invited to government-to-government consultations with the Department of Justice (DOJ) to discuss implementation of the Bureau of Prisons (BOP) Tribal Prisoner Program established in the Violence Against Women Act Reauthorization Act of 2022 (VAWA 2022). The Program will allow BOP to accept, pay for and house in BOP custody certain offenders convicted in Tribal court pursuant to section 803 of VAWA 2022.

Tribal leaders and Tribal leader designees are welcome to participate in the consultations. Other interested parties affiliated with a Tribe or Tribal organization or individuals may attend and may provide testimony if time remains after all Tribal leaders and designees have spoken. You will be asked to provide your name, title, Tribal affiliation when you speak at a session; all sessions will be held virtually.
