The Catalog of Federal Domestic Assistance (CFDA) announced a recent availability of funding for socially disadvantaged and veteran farmers and ranchers. Non profits, higher education institutions, and tribal entities are able to apply to compete for this grant.

The goal of this program is to “encourage and assist socially disadvantaged farmers and ranchers, veteran farmers and ranchers, and beginning farmers and ranchers with owning and operating farms and ranches and in participating equitably in the full range of agricultural, forestry, and related programs offered by United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). In partnership with the Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement (OPPE), eligible entities may compete for funding on projects that provide education and training in agriculture, agribusiness, forestry, agriculturally related services, and USDA programs, and to conduct outreach initiatives designed to accomplish those goals”.

The OPPE is also holding a webinar on August 10, 2021 at 2:00 PM EDT to answer questions and clarify any requirements. Only one proposal can be submitted per entity. The deadline to submit these proposals is on August 25, 2021.
