To improve health outcomes and prevent disease, it is vital to participate in ongoing training and development. Training and development play a distinct role in increasing the capacity to provide enhanced programs, services, functions, and activities. Ongoing training and development can strengthen program implementation, improve partner relationships, and achieve programmatic goals and deliverables, while maximizing public health resources. Continuing Education Unit (CEU) Offering
We partner with Cardea and the Indian Health Service (IHS) Clinical Support Center (CSC) to provide continuing education credits to increase the public health capacity of Tribal Nation staff. Currently, we offer continuing education credits for Social Work, Behavioral Health, Chemical Dependency, National Board of Certified Counselors, Dietician, Dental, Medical Assistants, and Community Health Workers. Below are the current offerings:
- Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) ECHO
- COVID-19 ECHO
- HCV/Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP)/Substance Use Disorder (SUD) clinical training
Continuing Medical Education (CME)
These activities have been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the California Medical Association (CMA) through the joint providership of Cardea and United South and Eastern Tribes OTPH. Cardea is accredited by the CMA to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Continuing Nursing Education (CNE)
Cardea Services is approved as a provider of continuing nursing professional development by Montana Nurses Association, an accredited approver with distinction by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
In order to receive continuing education credit, you must:
- Sign in and attend the entire event
- Complete an online evaluation using the link provided
- Complete an online certification request
CME and CNE: After completing the above steps, certificates will be sent via email. There is no charge for your CE credit.
