  • The US EPA is accepting applications from federally recognized Tribal governments and Tribal consortia. This notice announces the availability of funds and solicits applications from eligible entities to receive financial assistance through the Sustainability for the 7th Generation Initiative (SGI). The way of life for many Indian cultures is centered on the concept of "seven generations." The SGI provides a framework to integrate transportation, energy, land use and air quality planning programs into projects that yield measurable air quality benefits in a relatively short period of time. SGI works with eligible entities to help develop activities to help reduce emissions and promote sustainability with the goal of cleaner and healthier air.   • The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency requests proposals for Market-Based Approaches to Reducing Greenhouse Gas Emissions Through Energy Efficiency in Homes and Buildings.     The U.S. Department of Health & Human Services requests proposals for Climate Change and Health: Assessing and Modeling Population Vulnerability to Climate Change. This RFP encourages research of risk factors of populations that lead to or are associated with increased vulnerability to exposures, diseases, and other adverse health outcomes related to climate change.   • DOE Presents Webcast on Recovery Act Funding Opportunities As a result of the 2009 American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, the Geothermal Technologies Program (GTP) has four open Funding Opportunity Announcements (FOAs) totaling $484 million for cost-shared research, development, and demonstration projects in geothermal technologies. To help the geothermal community in effectively responding to these FOAs, GTP recently presented a Webcast open to all interested individuals and organizations. The Webcast introduced the mission and objectives of GTP, then explain the FOA process in detail, and then present information on each of the six Topic Areas of the FOAs.

  • Tribal Energy Program: Retrofit Ramp-Up and General Innovation Fund Program (DE-FOA-0000148), under the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program has been issued. Please review the announcement for eligibility under each of the topic areas, the type of projects being sought under each topic area, and those that will not be considered.   • The U.S. Endowment for Forestry and Communities (the Endowment) is seeking preproposals from qualified service providers who can address the potential of woody biomass for energy at two different places in the value chain:
    A. Taking promising conversion technology from the laboratory to demonstration level – the awkward stage after lab development and prior to commercialization. The Endowment’s intent is to provide partial funding for one or more tangible projects that can quickly prove (or disprove) the commercial potential of the technology. The basis for determination is the ability of the technology to yield a useful energy product in a cost effective manner and to assess the level of
    commercial interest in its future use.
    B. Develop one or more demonstrations of how consumers of woody biomass for energy might collaborate with others to develop new wood procurement, land ownership or land management models that provide sustained sources of woody biomass while ensuring the underlying forests are retained in forest cover.   • Green Jobs: Training and Implementation Contractor - New York
    The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority requests proposals for a Green Jobs Green New York (GJGNY) Training and Implementation Contractor. GJGNY is a statewide program to promote energy efficiency and the installation of clean technologies to reduce energy costs and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Successful applicant will be responsible for areas including, but not limited to, providing structured training, coordination, and communication for Constituency Based Organizations (CBOs). $500K expected to be available.     The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority requests proposals for work to conduct a Curriculum Inventory, Contractor Needs Assessment and Curriculum Updates. In support of Green Jobs Green New York, NYSERDA seeks proposals that address the following: 1) Conduct a comprehensive training curriculum inventory of existing energy efficiency training available in NY State, 2) Conduct a needs assessment survey of businesses/contractors to identify current skills gaps in available energy efficiency training curricula, and 3) Update existing residential auditing and other training curriculum to be administered through the Center for Energy Efficiency and Building Science, and other licensees of NYSERDA curriculum.   • The National Fish Habitat Action Plan is a national investment strategy to leverage federal and privately raised funds to protect, restore and enhance the nation’s fish and aquatic communities through partnerships that foster fish habitat conservation.
